On behalf of the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of Carteret County, it is with great enthusiasm that we congratulate Al DeRonda, volunteer at Beaufort Elementary School for being chosen the 2008 Communities In Schools Volunteer of the Year.

Each year the Executive Director selects one volunteer that stands out among the many well deserving individuals that give so willingly to help the youth of Carteret County become more successful in school and with their academic studies.

Al and your wife, Deb were invited to be guests at the 2nd Annual Communities In Schools “Gala for Children” which was held at the home of Mayor Richard and Lucia Stanley, Beaufort, on May 1, 2008.
